VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – International outdoor manufacturer Agio USA is preparing for Casual Market Chicago, July 19-22, with three new product collections as well as new strategies to address ongoing supply chain and lead time issues.

The Havana collection is adding a new wicker sectional that allows the flexibility of surrounding the 40-inch slat fire pit with curved benches and/or curved benches with backs. Also available in Havana is a large party bar that can seat 12 and a 44-inch round bar dining with fire table. Both high dining sets feature a twilight tile and maintenance free, reticulated foam bar stools.

All sets from Apricity by Agio will be offered with no throw pillows due to the customer being allowed to pick their preference from the 10 pillows Agio offers.

“Another difference this year to what we’ve done traditionally is the addition of a ‘soft core’ line or an ‘accent line’,” said Wingrove. “These are accessories that retailers can mix into their containers when ordering. We’ll have accent pillows in a variety of patterns, soft ottomans, as well as drink tables.”

The pedestal drink tables will be throughout Agio’s Chicago showroom (space 1628 in the Merchandise Mart) along with the soft ottomans that are modular and functional, offering versatile customization. Overall, customers can expect to see an eclectic mix on Agio’s showroom floor as opposed to an all-matching one.

For this upcoming outdoor season, Agio has taken steps to address fabric delays, materials price increases, container shortages and longer lead times to ensure shipments are on time and that it can continue to be a reliable source for its retailers.

“We found a way during these trying times to do 100% of what we said we would,” Wingrove told Furniture Today. “We’ve gone to a factory-select fabric selection to help ensure on-time shipments. Our quality control has evaluated on an equal basis with the other manufacturers that we’ve used in the past. I’m confident that our fabric supply we are buying is comparable and equal to the high-performance outdoor performance fabric in the marketplace today.”

Wingrove went on to point out that many indoor dealers have made-to-order programs that offer customers six to nine month lead times for custom fabric orders. He said if a customer places an order with Agio, it offers inventory of equal quality, the only difference being that the customer wouldn’t be able to pick their own color.

“When the end user shops Agio, there may be less expensive alternatives, but they’re likely to be of inferior quality,” Wingrove said. “Likewise, there may be more expensive alternatives where our quality is commensurate but the difference being the retailer has predetermined the color and the fabric as seen.

“The plus side for the customer is she gets her product immediately if she has truck, or within a week if she’s waiting for a delivery because the retailer has inventory.”
